The Tom Grainger School of Motoring Ltd was established in 1972 in Warrington. With over 40 years experience the company are proud to be able to provide driver training to the highest standards. It is important to note that, unlike many other schools, we do not operate under any circumstances with trainee instructors. We have an excellent first time pass rate and we take pride in getting our pupils through their test with the highest level of training.
Services
So, you want to learn to drive in Warrington.
Almost everyone wants to learn to drive a car as soon as they are old enough, but what's the best way to go about it?
It makes great sense to take great care when choosing a driving school, as you only want to take one test.
With us you will have an exceptionally high chance of passing your test first time as against the national average.
Because our standard of tuition is so high and, provided you continue to put into practice all you have been taught afterwards, you will be that much safer a driver.
There are now two separate tests that you have to pass before you can get a full licence to drive a car.
There's the Theory Test, which is a computerised, touch screen test covering a basic knowledge of traffic signs, road markings, road sense, hazards, rules and regulations and then there's the practical driving test which is for your actual basic driving ability.
Both these sections of the test need to be passed before you are allowed to drive on a public road - unsupervised.
Your instructor will monitor your progress and will inform you when you are ready for the test.
Each year around 3,400 people are killed on Britain's roads.
New drivers take much longer to recognise hazardous situations than more experienced drivers, and many driving test candidates have poor scanning and anticipation skills.
These skills are vital for safe driving.
By introducing the new hazard perception part to the test, we hope to encourage more drivers to develop hazard perception skills while they are still learning to drive.
This part consists of 50 multiple choice questions covering a wide range of driving topics.
Once you have passed the on screen theory test you can apply for the practical driving test.
However, you must be able to drive with minimal assistance from your driving instructor before you take the test.
Take your driving instructor's advice on whether you are ready.
Normally you will have the use of your instructor's car for the test and this is the best option as you will be familiar with the vehicle.
If you can drive and control your car safely and smoothly, with full awareness of other road users and consideration for the road, weather and traffic conditions, and can competently perform all the slow manoeuvres, you are ready to pass your driving test!
Motorway Driving Lessons are an absolute must and may possibly become the law soon.
Normally a 2 hour motorway driving lesson will give you a good, basic foundation to driving safely on today's motorways and at the same time give you the confidence to use them.
This is the best value for money you can spend on driving tuition and most important in this area of high density motorways.
Driving on a motorway for the first time can be quite a daunting experience.
With the assistance of a qualified instructor, we can help you overcome your fears and help you feel as confident driving on motorways as you are driving round your local area.
