The Farm School of Motoring was established in 1985 to provide driving lessons in Widnes.
Our driving instructors were soon providing driving lessons in Runcorn and all the surrounding areas.
I became a driving instructor (ADI) in 1984, after passing my test on a motorbike, in a car, and in a double decker bus!
I enjoyed driving so much that I wanted to pass the whole experience on to other people and what better a way than to teach people to drive at my driving school in Widnes?
Over 30 years later, I am a grade 6 instructor (top grade) and we have a team of 4 at The Farm School of Motoring.
If you have any questions regarding the information here, feel free to ask.
The examinations are standardised throughout the UK, The Farm School of Motoring will enable you to become a safe driver for life, not just teach you how to pass a test.
The hazard perception test is taken at the same time as the theory test.
The theory test starts with a series of 50 multiple choice questions and is followed by a three minute break before the hazard perception element starts.
Your hazard perception test will consist of 14 video clips which will feature various road scenes with developing hazards involving both vehicles and pedestrians.
The 'show me tell me' questions require you to explain to the driving test examiner where and how to check the tyres, brakes, fluid levels, lights, direction indicators, power steering and horn.
You will be asked two questions, one 'show me' and one 'tell me' question.
Open the bonnet, identify where you would check the engine oil level and tell me how you would check that the engine has sufficient oil.
Identify dipstick, describe how you would take it out, wipe it, replace it, take it out again and read the level between the minimum and maximum markers.
