Peter Skelton Driving School is an independent driving school providing driving lessons in Newbury, Thatcham, Basingstoke and the surrounding areas. You will benefit from a driving school with over 17 years experience where we maintain high standards at all times. This is not only reflected in the customers who pass their tests but in the level and the standards of tuition our customers receive.
With the benefit of a driving instructor with a high pass rate, you can be assured that you will receive patient and effective tuition to the highest standard. All lessons are taken at the customers own pace. Therefore more confident and naturally gifted drivers will be encouraged to progress quicker, whereas a more anxious less able driver will be allowed more time and encouragement to progress as fast as they feel comfortable with.
Intensive and semi intensive courses are provided usually over 1 to 4 weeks depending on the pupil and how many hours per week they want to do. Unlike most intensive driving courses that you may sign up for, we will always conduct an assessment lesson first to gauge how many hours you would require and to tailor the course to your specific requirements.

However that doesn't apply if you pass your test in an automatic car, you are only entitled to drive automatics.
If you wish to drive manual cars then you would need to take another driving test.
As time goes on the demand for automatic lessons has increased.
When I first started my driving school 17 years ago, it was very rare for anyone to ask for auto lessons, however nowadays they make up around 40% of our enquiries.
